Supporting Kanbe’s Markets by Helping Cover the Cost of Rent

Creating greater access to fresh, healthy food requires more than moving produce. It requires the infrastructure, people and spaces that make the work possible.

Kanbe’s Markets works throughout the Kansas City community to increase access to fresh, affordable food while helping redirect nutritious produce that might otherwise go to waste. Behind that work are the everyday operating expenses necessary to keep the organization moving forward—including the cost of maintaining its office space.

Strengthening the Organization Behind the Mission

Home for the Homeless provided funding to help cover rent for Kanbe’s Markets’ offices, allowing more of the organization’s resources to remain focused on its programs and the communities it serves.

Operating expenses may not always be the most visible part of nonprofit work, but they are essential. A stable space gives an organization the foundation it needs to coordinate programs, build partnerships and support the people carrying out its mission every day.

Investing in Lasting Impact

Home for the Homeless believes supporting a nonprofit can mean investing in both its programs and the infrastructure that makes those programs possible.

By helping Kanbe’s Markets cover an essential operating expense, Home for the Homeless is helping strengthen an organization working every day to improve food access across Kansas City.

Sometimes making an impact means funding what happens behind the scenes—so important work can continue out in the community.
