Behind every number is a person, a unique need, and an opportunity to make a meaningful difference.
Helping Someone Hear and Connect
The Need: A man experiencing homelessness was struggling with hearing loss, making everyday conversations and connections difficult.
The Response: Through Street Support KC, we provided him with a hearing amplifier to help him hear more clearly.
The Impact: A simple device helped him communicate more easily, stay connected to others, and navigate daily life with greater confidence and independence.
Creating A Place to Belong
The Need: Individuals experiencing homelessness often face isolation and a lack of safe, welcoming places to spend time, connect with others, and simply feel part of a community.
The Response: Home for the Homeless provided a new pool table for the Hope City KC community center, creating a space for recreation, conversation, and connection.
The Impact: More than a game, the pool table gives people a reason to gather, build relationships, and experience a sense of belonging — small moments of normalcy and connection that can make a meaningful difference.
Supporting Fresh Food Access
The Need: Kanbe’s Markets needed support with operating costs so more resources could remain focused on making fresh, healthy food accessible to people in underserved communities.
The Response: Home for the Homeless paid one year of rent for Kanbe’s Markets’ office space, helping reduce a significant operating expense.
The Impact: By helping cover the costs behind the mission, we helped Kanbe’s direct more of its resources toward expanding food access and getting nutritious food to people who need it most.
